This is his first solo exhibition in three years, as well as the third solo show at Hiromart Gallery.

Artist Statement:
When faced with a daily barrage of online manipulation, it is easy to feel exploited by this form of collective mind control. It can immediately throw us all into a frenzy if we are not careful. The paranoia seeps into our imagination as we glance at a random post, trapped within the exciting times of our ever-changing modern life. How do we filter the cacophony of social media voices and headlines that echo in our minds? It is definitely not by emotional reactions, but perhaps by an attitude that can gently respond like the silent sway of a willow tree in the breeze.
Hideki Tarui
Born in Tokyo, in 1988.
Graduated from Tama Art University, Painting - oil painting, in 2012, and received an MFA degree in painting in 2014.
An active artist, he has also seen selected for prizes in competitions, e.g. Tokyo Wonder Wall in 2010, Tokyo Wonder Seeds in 2014 and 2016. His first solo-show was held in 2014 at Wada Fine Arts in Tokyo.
His solo shows with Hiromart Gallery were held in 2018 and 2019.
