Artist Statement:
Without providing any sketches, I leave any traces instantaneously on a copperplate. They are seeds; I grow images that come to fruition. Most works I make with this process often have an appearance of people. It can be facile, but maybe it’s because I have an interest, and feel people are mysterious, including myself. I dig down and verify people by describing them. In addition to these works, I pay attention to something not human for this exhibition. It can be made if it’s only the appearance of things. Though maybe I’m not easily convinced. However, my range of works is expanding slowly but surely.

Born in Aichi pref. in 1980. He studied painting at Kanazawa College of Art in Ishikawa pref., and graduated in 2004.
Based in Kanazawa, he makes oil paintings and copperplate prints. As for the painting, he paints a variety of a man’s form, inspired by viewing himself in a mirror. In contrast with painting, he takes a certain amount of creative enjoyment in the print itself. He does this with out the benefit of viewing the accuracy of the image until it is finished being printed. In producing these two different types of works, he balances the process of hardness and softness.
Hiromart Gallery showcased his solo exhibition in 2021.
