Artist Statement for Contemplations:
Contemplations is new series of abstract, color field paintings created for exhibit at Hiromart Gallery in Tokyo. These works are studies in color harmony with some paintings evoking horizons and landscapes, while others tend toward musical and life rhythms. For me, creating these works is a meditative process with concentration on the nuances of color harmony and repetitive mark-making. I hope the viewers of these paintings can also take the time to experience a sense of solace and peace.
