Artist Statement on Parasite Nature

In my fifth solo show at Hiromart Gallery, Tokyo, I’ll show new oil paintings, of direct observation of nature motives. Nature is a wide spread expression, understood in an artistic way. I am bound to my tradition of realistic painting, like forerunners such as Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, Ferdinand Hodler and so on. I am seeking nature motives in my German surrounding. Which means, I am also looking for interesting human models or samples, which seem interesting to me. Nature motives are also including less nice topics like the results of climate change, or somehow awkward phenomena, which I try not to hide. I am not a painter of pure idylls. I am interested in the contemplation of the observation of nature motives.
